Jalandhar: AAP MLA Raman Arora sent to 14-day judicial custody in extortion case

MLA Raman Arora is accused of extorting huge amounts of money from businessmen and contractors through his associates. After the complaint of the victims, the police started investigation and arrested him after getting sufficient evidence.

Aam Aadmi Party’s Jalandhar Central MLA Raman Arora, who was caught in the extortion case, has been sent to 14-day judicial custody by the court. On Saturday, after the police remand ended, he was produced in the court, where the police did not demand further remand.

During the hearing in the court, the police argued that the necessary evidence related to the case has been collected during the remand period and now further investigation can be done even while in jail. After this, the court, after hearing all the parties, ordered Raman Arora to be sent to 14-day judicial custody. Let us tell you that Raman Arora was on police remand for the last 9 days. He was first sent on 6-day and then 3-day remand. MLA Raman Arora is accused of extorting huge amounts of money from businessmen and contractors through his associates. After the victims’ complaint, the police started an investigation and arrested him after getting sufficient evidence. The police claim that there are strong witnesses and documentary evidence against Arora, on the basis of which further action will be taken.
