Breaking News | Punjab Corruption Shock: CBI Recovers ₹7.5 Crore Cash, Gold, and Luxury Loot from DIG Bhullar’s Home

CM Bhagwant Mann: “No Mercy for the Corrupt — AAP’s fight against bribe-takers will not stop.”

Punjab’s power corridors are rattled after the CBI unearthed a mountain of cash and luxury assets from the home of Ropar Range DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar, arrested in a multi-crore bribery case.

The Raid That Shook Punjab Police

The CBI raid at Bhullar’s Chandigarh residence revealed the scale of corruption that has stunned even senior officers. Officials seized:

  • ₹7.5 crore in cash stuffed in three bags and a suitcase

  • 22 expensive luxury watches

  • Gold jewellery, foreign liquor bottles, and keys to multiple lockers

The raid followed Bhullar’s arrest in Mohali for accepting an ₹8 lakh bribe from a scrap dealer. The DIG was caught red-handed after the CBI tracked his network for weeks.

Middleman Confession: The Bribe Network Exposed

Bhullar’s close aide Krishnan, now under CBI custody, has confessed to collecting ₹5–7 lakh per month from high-profile businessmen in Mohali, Chandigarh, Patiala, Zirakpur, and Panchkula — all at Bhullar’s command.
The confession points to a systematic extortion racket that operated under the guise of “police protection.”

⚠️ Benami Property Trail and Explosive Diary

The CBI is now probing dozens of benami properties linked to Bhullar.
Documents recovered from his residence — including a handwritten diary — are expected to reveal names of influential individuals tied to the money trail.
Officials warn that the “real storm” will begin once property deals and financial links are exposed.

Mann Government’s Swift Action

Soon after the CBI arrest, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced Bhullar’s suspension through an X (Twitter) post:

“I have ordered the immediate suspension of DIG Ropar. No matter how powerful, anyone caught taking bribes will face strict action. AAP’s fight against every bribe-taker continues.”

Bhullar, a 2007-batch IPS officer and son of former DGP Mahal Singh Bhullar, now faces a career-ending probe. The case has sparked outrage across Punjab, questioning the integrity of senior police officers.

What’s Next?

With the CBI scanning financial records, luxury assets, and possible political links, the DIG Bhullar case could snowball into Punjab’s biggest-ever police corruption scandal.
