Mann government undertakes major reshuffling; key appointments made to senior positions
The Punjab government has announced a major reshuffle in the state police department, with transfer and promotion orders issued for 22 IPS officers on Saturday. The reshuffle, significant in its scope, reflects strategic changes across critical divisions of Punjab Police, including the Anti-Narcotics Task Force, Human Rights Commission, and various regional commands.

Key Senior Promotions
The reshuffle brings notable promotions at the senior level. IPS Neelambari Vijay Jagdale has been promoted to the rank of Inspector General (IG) and appointed as IGP of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF). Meanwhile, IPS Naresh Kumar has been appointed as Special DGP of the Punjab State Human Rights Commission, and IPS Amardeep Singh Rai has been given additional charge of Special DGP Traffic and Road Safety along with the Public Grievance Division.
SSP-Level Changes
Three Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) positions have undergone changes. IPS Jyoti Yadav has been appointed as SSP Bathinda, replacing the previous incumbent. IPS Maninder Singh assumes the position of SSP Rupnagar, while Staff Officer to DGP Darpan Ahluwalia has been appointed as SSP Khanna.
ADGP and IG Appointments
IPS Kaustubh Sharma has been promoted to ADGP rank and appointed as ADGP Human Rights Punjab. IPS Rajpal Singh has been promoted to IG rank and assigned dual postings as IGP Crime Punjab and IGP PAP-2 Chandigarh. IPS Snehdeep Sharma has been promoted and appointed as DIG AGTF Ludhiana and DIG Ferozepur Range.
Deputy Inspector General Postings
The reshuffle includes extensive changes at the DIG level. IPS Sandeep Goyal has been promoted and appointed as DIG Border Range Amritsar, while IPS Jasdev Singh Sidhu takes on the role of DIG Security Punjab Lok Bhawan. Other DIG appointments include IPS Sandeep Kumar Garg (DIG Intelligence), IPS Dhruv Dahiya (DIG Internal Security), IPS Gulneet Singh Khurana (DIG Counter Intelligence), IPS Akhil Chaudhary (DIG ANTF Punjab), and IPS Amneet Kondal (DIG Personnel and DIG Social Media Punjab).
Additionally, IPS Gurpreet Singh has been promoted to DIG CDO Patiala, and IPS Sarabjit Singh has been promoted to DIG BOI Crime. IPS Harpreet Singh Jaggi has been appointed as DIG EOW Vigilance Bureau, overseeing vigilance operations across the state.
Other Notable Postings
IPS Rupinder Singh has been promoted to the rank of Additional Chief Police Officer (CP) and posted to Ludhiana. IPS Rishabh Bhola has been appointed as Staff Officer to the DGP, a key administrative position supporting the state’s top police official.
Reinstatement of IPS Ravjot Grewal
In a significant development, IPS officer Ravjot Grewal of the 2015 batch has been reinstated and posted to the Vigilance Bureau, Punjab. Grewal had been previously suspended by the Election Commission following allegations of violating the election code of conduct during the Tarn Taran assembly by-election. Her reinstatement signals the resolution of the electoral misconduct case.

Administrative Details
The transfer and promotion orders have been issued by Alok Shekhar, Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department, on behalf of the Punjab government. The reshuffle represents a comprehensive reorganization aimed at strengthening police operations across various critical functions including anti-narcotics operations, human rights implementation, border security, and internal intelligence.
