Union Home Minister set to galvanise farmers and party workers at Killi Chahala; a 70-acre pandal is being readied for an expected turnout of 50,000 to 60,000 people

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Moga, Punjab, on Friday, March 14, to address a large-scale farmers’ rally at Killi Chahala village. The event, billed as one of the most significant political gatherings in the state in recent years, is being viewed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as a critical stepping stone toward the 2027 Punjab Legislative Assembly elections.
Preparations for the rally are already in full swing. A massive pandal spanning approximately 70 acres is being erected at the venue, with organisers estimating an attendance of between 50,000 and 60,000 people. Multiple committees have been constituted to manage the logistics, with dedicated teams assigned to the helipad, welcome arrangements, VIP and VVIP parking, traffic management, and sanitation facilities.
“The farmers’ rally on March 14 will serve as the foundation for the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections. Just as there is a BJP wave across the country, people in Punjab also want a double-engine government.” — Dr. Seemant Garg, Former BJP District President, Moga
Former BJP District President Dr. Seemant Garg confirmed the Home Minister’s visit and outlined the political intent of the event. “The farmers’ rally on March 14 will serve as the foundation for the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections,” Dr. Garg stated. “Just as there is a BJP wave across the country, people in Punjab also want a double-engine government.” He added that there is tremendous enthusiasm among farmers and BJP workers across the state ahead of the rally.
Alongside Amit Shah, several senior central and state-level BJP leaders are expected to address the gathering. Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar, Organisation Minister Srinivasulu, and Executive President Ashwani Sharma are among the confirmed speakers. The rally is expected to draw party workers and supporters from across the state.
BJP Targets Law & Order, Drugs, and Economic Development
Dr. Garg outlined the BJP’s campaign narrative for Punjab, alleging a sharp deterioration in the state’s law and order situation under the current government. He cited rising gangsterism and a worsening drug menace as key concerns requiring urgent political intervention. “Only with the formation of a BJP government in Punjab can the state progress and become economically strong,” he asserted.
Appealing to all BJP workers and supporters in Moga district, Dr. Garg urged them to converge at Killi Chahala in large numbers on March 14 to make the rally a historic occasion. “Come and listen to the views of our Home Minister and other leaders,” he said, adding that the party is committed to presenting a strong alternative vision for Punjab ahead of the 2027 polls.
