DIG Bhullar Bribery Bombshell: Middleman Cracks Under Pressure — “I Took the Bribe on Bhullar’s Orders!”

The CBI’s crackdown on corruption in Punjab Police has ripped the mask off a dirty money racket run by suspended DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar.

After a nine-hour grilling, Bhullar’s key aide and middleman Krishanu Sharda finally broke down — admitting he demanded lakhs in bribes from businessmen on Bhullar’s command.

Sources say Krishanu confessed he had been collecting cash for Bhullar’s “special tasks” across Punjab, exposing a deep-rooted web of extortion and power abuse inside the police ranks.

Bhullar and Krishanu, now on CBI Chandigarh remand, were caught red-handed taking ₹8 lakh from a Mandi Gobindgarh scrap dealer, Akash Batta. But that’s not all — the CBI has unearthed another ₹10 lakh bribe demand from a Derabassi businessman for getting an FIR registered.

Investigators believe Bhullar used a network of brokers and touts to shake down businessmen, turning his uniform into a money-making machine. One such fixer even claimed he could get any case “settled” through Bhullar’s man Krishanu — for a fat cut.

The CBI’s face-to-face confrontation on Sunday has now blown the lid off this multi-district bribery syndicate, where Bhullar pulled the strings and his middlemen collected the cash.
