An important cabinet meeting was held amid the flood crisis in Punjab. Major decisions have been taken for the flood-affected people in the meeting. CM Bhagwant Mann is currently hospitalized. He attended the cabinet meeting through video conferencing from the hospital itself.

‘Jiska Khet Uski Sand’ policy has been implemented in Punjab. It was approved in the cabinet meeting. After the meeting, CM Bhagwant Mann informed about this while talking to journalists. Despite being on drip, CM Bhagwant Mann held a cabinet meeting.
Under this policy, the farmer who has soil in his field can sell it. After the flood, the silt of the rivers has accumulated in the farmers’ fields. The government will give compensation of Rs 20,000 per acre to the farmers of Punjab on crop loss. The government claims that this is the highest compensation in the country so far.
Compensation of four lakhs to the families of the deceased
The families of those who died during the floods will be given a compensation of four lakh rupees. Those whose houses have been damaged during the floods will get financial assistance.
No installments for six months on loans from cooperative banks
The CM said that farmers who have taken loans from Punjab Cooperative Banks. They will not have to pay any installment for six months. There will also be no interest during this period. Vaccination campaign will start after the flood water recedes. Medical camps will be set up for health checkup of people. A large-scale cleanliness drive will be run after the water recedes in the state.
School and college buildings will be surveyed
The flood water has caused a lot of damage to schools, colleges and government buildings. They will be surveyed and repaired. The CM said that the Punjab government stands with all Punjabis at this time of crisis.
Damage caused due to reduction in the width of Beas
The CM said that the Beas river used to be very wide earlier but now its width has reduced considerably. That is why this river caused a lot of devastation in many nearby areas.
CM Mann is admitted in the hospital
CM Bhagwant Mann is currently admitted in the hospital. He attended the cabinet meeting through video conferencing from the hospital itself. After the meeting, the Chief Minister said that even while staying in the hospital, he is worried about Punjab and Punjabis.
The CM said that after the flood, a survey will be conducted for those who have lost their livestock and compensation will be announced for them too. All the officers of the Punjab government have been instructed to be fully active in the field and solve the problems of the people quickly.
Punjab government opened the treasury for flood victims – Kejriwal
AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal has expressed happiness over the announcements made by the Punjab government for the flood-affected people. Kejriwal says that the AAP government of Punjab has opened the treasury for the people of Punjab who are facing the tragedy. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann made many big announcements to provide immediate relief to the flood-affected people. AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal and other senior leaders including Punjab in-charge Manish Sisodia have described the announcements made by CM Bhagwant Mann as historic. Arvind Kejriwal said that till date no state government in the country has made such big announcements for its people. Bhagwant Mann is concerned about Punjabis even while ill in the hospital. He has taken care of everyone in his announcement.
Arvind Kejriwal said on the eve that Punjab has been hit hard by nature. In such times, Punjabis have set an example of courage, bravery, brotherhood and selfless service. All the leaders and workers of AAP have also been serving the people day and night for many days. The worker has to ensure that every announcement of Chief Minister Mann reaches the public. Now the entire government machinery and every worker of the Aam Aadmi Party will have to ensure this. This is a virtuous act.
Punjab in-charge Manish Sisodia also praised the historic announcement made by CM Bhagwant Mann for the flood victims. He said on Twitter that Punjab’s beloved Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has once again come forward as a true sympathiser of Punjabis. Even while in the hospital, he had only one concern in his heart – how to reduce the suffering of his people in the situation arising out of the floods in Punjab. Manish Sisodia said that the historic decisions taken by Bhagwant Mann for the flood victims have hardly been taken by any government in the history of the country. The aim is only one – to provide relief to every household, every farmer, every labourer. This is the unwavering love and sense of service of a son of Punjab for his family. With the blessings of Waheguru, Punjab will come out of this difficult time stronger.
