After the flood in the Ravi river in Amritsar, the water is now slowly receding, but due to the hundreds of animals that died there, many types of diseases have started spreading.

The administration and health department teams are constantly engaged in checking up people and every area is being monitored. Apart from this, there is also a danger regarding pigs in the area. African swine fever is spreading among pigs. In such a situation, there is a complete ban on bringing pigs or their meat to the flood-affected areas.
The virus is incurable
Veterinary doctor Dr. Ravinder Singh Kang said that this disease affects only pigs, there is no danger from it to humans, so people need not panic. The virus has spread in Dhariwal Kalair village of Ajnala area of the district. Dr. Kang said that this virus is incurable and once it spreads in the farm, it can spread rapidly in the entire area. Due to this, it becomes necessary to kill and bury the affected pigs and sanitize the farm. Also, to stop the spread of the disease, the purchase and sale of pigs in the affected area has been immediately banned.
210 pigs had to be killed in one farm
Due to the spread of the virus, about 210 pigs had to be killed in a local farm, due to which the farm owner suffered a loss of lakhs of rupees. The farm owner also held the administration responsible for this and said that if the report had been given on time, he would not have suffered any loss.
