Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has come out swinging against the BJP’s “Sheeshmahal” propaganda, calling it a deliberate lie designed to fool the people of Punjab.
Mann tore into the BJP leadership, saying, “They can’t talk about jobs, farmers, or Punjab’s future — so they create fake controversies to distract people. The BJP is addicted to propaganda.”
“Kothi No. 50 Is the CM’s Camp Office, Not a Palace”
Mann made it clear that Kothi No. 50 in Sector 2, Chandigarh — which BJP leaders mockingly call “Sheeshmahal” — is the official camp office of the Punjab Chief Minister, used for government work and official guests.
He reminded the BJP that this bungalow has served as the CM’s camp office since March 16, 2022, when his government took charge. “If they call this a palace, then every CM in India is living in a palace,” he said sarcastically.
Mann further clarified that Bungalow No. 45 in the same sector is his residence, while Bungalow No. 50 is purely administrative. “No fancy construction, no luxury — just work for the people,” he asserted.
“BJP Ministers Live in Real Palaces — Not Me”
Launching a direct attack, Mann said, “Those who live in real palaces are BJP ministers. They bathe in luxury while calling an honest Chief Minister’s office a palace. What hypocrisy!”
“I come from an ordinary family, I live simply, I sleep in ordinary homes. I haven’t forgotten where I came from — unlike those in BJP who can’t live without red carpets and chandeliers,” he added.

Mann accused the BJP of running a coordinated campaign to tarnish his image. “This is BJP’s old trick — spread lies, confuse people, and hide their own failures. But Punjabis are smart. They know who stands with them and who stands for drama,” Mann thundered.
He urged citizens not to fall for the “Delhi-scripted drama,” saying, “The Centre’s propaganda factory is working overtime — but truth always wins. Punjab won’t bow down to their politics of lies.”
