Punjab’s underworld has started to shake again — gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria is back. After seven months in an Assam jail, Bhagwanpuria was secretly flown to Punjab late last night under Z-category–like security.

Police teams escorted him to Sri Guru Ramdas International Airport, Amritsar, around 1 am and immediately shifted him to Batala for interrogation. The entire operation was kept under wraps due to fears of gang retaliation and possible attack attempts.
This is Bhagwanpuria’s first return to Punjab after the brutal daylight murder of his mother, Harjeet Kaur, in June. Her killing had sent shockwaves across Punjab’s gang network.
Sources confirm that Bhagwanpuria faces dozens of serious charges — from murder and extortion to running an organized crime syndicate. He has been brought back to stand trial in cases filed in Amritsar and Batala, and police have already beefed up security around the court premises.

Importantly, his name has also figured in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case, linking him to one of Punjab’s most sensational crimes in recent history. With his return, police intelligence units are on high alert amid fears that gang tensions could explode once again in Punjab.
