Leader of Opposition in Punjab Assembly Pratap Bajwa had said in a TV interview that 50 bombs have arrived in Punjab, out of which 18 have exploded and 32 are still left. After this, political uproar has started in Punjab.
Punjab Congress leader Pratap Singh Bajwa will not be arrested till May 7. The Punjab government has assured this to the High Court. After this, the High Court adjourned the hearing, giving time to the Punjab government to file a detailed reply on Bajwa’s petition.
Leader of Opposition in Punjab and senior Congress leader Pratap Singh Bajwa had said that 50 bombs have reached Punjab, which is being misinterpreted. Bajwa had filed a petition in the High Court seeking cancellation of the FIR registered regarding his statement.
The High Court had sought a reply from the Punjab government
Bajwa had alleged that his statement was presented in a distorted manner. On this, the High Court had issued a notice to the Punjab government and sought a reply. Also, his arrest was banned till the next hearing. The High Court also banned Bajwa from issuing a press statement about this case. Bajwa’s claim – Intelligence police was misused Bajwa had claimed that the intelligence police of Punjab was misused in this case. Bajwa said that he had questioned the working style of the state police and called it useless. The responsibility for this lies with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who also handles the Home Department. He alleged that the Chief Minister considered this criticism as a personal attack and ordered to register an FIR against him out of political revenge. It was also said in the petition that the petitioner holds the status of a cabinet minister as the Leader of the Opposition and has been constantly raising questions on the policies and law and order of the Aam Aadmi Party government.
