Sidhu Moosewala Murder Case: Balkaur Singh Faces the Killers — Identifies Shooters in Court

Mansa: In a dramatic turn in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case, five key accused were brought face-to-face with Moosewala’s father, Balkaur Singh, inside the Mansa District Court on Friday.

For the first time since his son’s brutal assassination, Balkaur Singh stood in court and personally identified the shooters — the men accused of executing one of Punjab’s most shocking murders in recent memory.

The police, acting on the court’s strict orders, presented the accused — Priyavrat Fauji, Kuldeep Kashish, Sandeep Kekra, Deepak Mundi, and Baldev Nikku — under heavy security cover. Alongside them, the white Bolero and Corolla cars allegedly used in the killing were also produced before the court.

Balkaur Singh had earlier told the court that his failing eyesight made it impossible for him to identify the culprits over video conferencing. His request was granted — and on Friday, he finally came face-to-face with those accused of gunning down his son in cold blood.

According to the investigation, Priyavrat Fauji, Kuldeep Kashish, Ankit Sirsa, and Deepak Mundi were in the Bolero, while Jagroop Rupa and Manpreet Kussa were in the Corolla — the two vehicles from which bullets were fired at Moosewala’s Thar.

The courtroom witnessed tense moments as Balkaur Singh identified the accused one by one. The case will now move forward on November 14, when further proceedings are expected to continue.

On May 29, 2022, singer Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, popularly known as Sidhu Moosewala, was brutally shot dead in Jawaharke village, Mansa, while traveling with two friends. The attack, carried out in broad daylight, involved multiple rounds of fire — leaving the 28-year-old singer fatally injured.

The police have so far named 39 accused in the case. Among them, four have died, including Jagroop Rupa and Manpreet Kussa, who were killed in an encounter with the Punjab Police in Amritsar. Five accused are still absconding, and the investigation continues to unearth the deeper conspiracy behind the murder.

Balkaur Singh, who has been relentlessly fighting for justice since his son’s death, once again stood strong in court — demanding that those behind Moosewala’s killing
