Amritsar: In a major breakthrough, the State Special Operations Cell (SSOC) of Punjab Police has busted an international arms smuggling network operating across the Indo-Pak border. Four accused — Jagraj Singh alias Cheeri, Kulbir Singh alias Nannu alias Kalu, Arshdeep Singh, and Nachattar Singh, all residents of Tarn Taran — have been arrested.

Police recovered four sophisticated .30-bore pistols and live cartridges from their possession.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused were in direct contact with a Pakistan-based smuggler running a cross-border arms network. The gang allegedly imported weapons from Pakistan and supplied them to criminals active in Punjab.
An FIR has been registered at the SSOC Police Station, Amritsar, and a deeper probe is underway to trace other members and links of this smuggling syndicate.

Punjab Police affirmed its firm resolve to crack down on illegal arms, organized crime, and cross-border smuggling networks threatening the state’s security.
