Moga:
In a major crackdown on drug traffickers, the Moga Police and Municipal Corporation jointly demolished illegal properties acquired through drug money. The operation took place on Lal Singh Road, where two brothers — Arun and Rahul — had built a house with proceeds from drug trafficking.
According to officials, eight criminal cases have been registered against the duo, including three under the commercial quantity sections of the NDPS Act. Despite multiple notices from the Municipal Corporation, the accused failed to respond, prompting today’s action under heavy police presence.
SSP Ajay Gandhi, who supervised the operation, said this joint initiative is part of Moga Police’s ongoing campaign against drug smugglers and their illegal assets. He revealed that Arun is currently in jail, while Rahul is out on bail. Investigations confirmed that the demolished property was financed through illegal drug trade earnings.
The SSP added that similar actions were recently taken in Sadha Wala Basti against other drug traffickers. The campaign will continue in the coming days, with strict action promised against anyone acquiring property through drug trafficking.
