Jalandhar has been rocked by a daring daylight robbery. In a high-tension incident on Thursday morning, three armed robbers stormed Vijay Jewellers in the Bhargava Camp area, looting cash and jewellery worth over ₹2 lakh within minutes — and escaping without a trace.

According to shop owner Vijay, his son had just opened the shop when three masked men barged in, waving pistols and shouting threats. One robber smashed the glass counter with a sharp weapon, while the other two swept jewellery and cash into a bag.
Robbers forced victim to open the safe
In a terrifying sequence caught clearly on CCTV, the robbers held the jeweller’s son at gunpoint, forcing him to open the safe. Within just two minutes, they cleaned out the cash and ornaments before fleeing. The victim even attempted to resist, resulting in a brief scuffle, but the robbers managed to escape unchallenged.
Area gripped with fear, traders furious
Residents and nearby shopkeepers are in shock after the brazen daylight heist. Tension and anger prevail across the local market, with traders alleging that the robbers had conducted a detailed recce before striking. Several shop owners have warned of mass protests and shop closures if the culprits are not caught swiftly.

Police launch investigation, CCTV footage under scrutiny
Police from the Bhargava Camp station rushed to the scene and have started examining CCTV footage to identify the suspects. Senior officers confirmed that all nearby camera recordings are being analysed and multiple police teams have been deployed.
This incident once again raises serious questions about law and order in Jalandhar, where armed robberies and gang activities have been on the rise. Locals demand immediate action and tighter police patrolling to restore confidence.
