The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has secured a decisive victory in the Tarn Taran Assembly by-election, with party candidate Harmeet Singh Sandhu winning by a margin of 12,091 votes. With this result, AAP has successfully retained the seat, while both the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) forfeited their deposits following poor performances.

Round-wise Highlights
SAD candidate Sukhwinder Kaur Randhawa initially led during the first two rounds. However, AAP’s Harmeet Sandhu overtook the lead in the third round and maintained a steady margin thereafter. By the 10th round, AAP supporters began celebrations as the lead widened beyond recovery for other candidates. Counting concluded after 16 rounds.
Kejriwal Hails ‘Historic Victory‘
AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal congratulated the workers and voters, stating that the result reflects Punjab’s trust in “the politics of work” and the honest leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
He said the people of Punjab have once again shown confidence in AAP’s governance and thanked all party workers for their hard work during the campaign.
