In a major counter-terror breakthrough, the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has crushed an ISI-directed terror module, arresting a most-wanted operative linked to grenade attacks and arms smuggling in Punjab.
The arrested accused, Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi Billa, was picked up in a swift, covert operation from Halol in Panchmahal district—exposing the deep international nexus fuelling terror activities inside India.

High-Value Arrest Linked to Pakistan Network
According to the ATS, Gurpreet Singh was wanted by Punjab Police for his direct involvement in supplying grenades, pistols and logistical support to a Pakistan-backed terror network active in Punjab.
He was operating undercover as a factory labourer before being tracked down and arrested from a hotel.
Masterminds Sitting in Malaysia, Working for ISI
During preliminary interrogation, the ATS uncovered explosive details:
-
Main handlers, Manu Agwan and Maninder Billa, are currently hiding in Malaysia.
-
Both have been coordinating operations at the behest of Pakistan’s ISI.
-
Their objective: execute grenade blasts in crowded public areas across Punjab and neighbouring states to trigger panic and destabilize law and order.
Punjab Police Interrogation Unmasked the Link
The breakthrough came after Punjab Police interrogated two recently arrested operatives who revealed Gurpreet Singh’s active role in:
-
Smuggling two grenades into Punjab
-
Supplying two sophisticated pistols
-
Facilitating recruitment for the terror module
-
Participating in planning high-impact explosions
Based on intelligence inputs, a Gujarat ATS team moved rapidly to Halol, located the suspect, and apprehended him before he could escape.

Accused Confesses to Plot
During questioning, Gurpreet reportedly confessed to being part of the ISI-backed plan to unleash terror through grenade attacks.
He will now be handed over to the Punjab Police for further investigation and custodial interrogation.
