Punjab Political Scandal Erupts:
The Hoshiarpur Cyber Cell has tightened the noose around digital smear networks, arresting Rajinder Parmar, office in-charge of former Punjab minister Sunder Sham Arora, for running a coordinated defamation operation through fake Facebook accounts.

According to police, Parmar meticulously crafted fake IDs — “Raja Thakur” and “Rab Kolo Der Sajjana” — to launch vicious personal attacks, circulate fabricated allegations, and target MLA Brahm Shankar Zimpa and his family with malicious propaganda.
The Cyber Cell traced the digital footprints of these accounts, which repeatedly manipulated their location tags, switching between Brampton (Ontario, Canada), Hoshiarpur, and Kapurthala, in an attempt to dodge surveillance.
But the technical team cracked the trail, leading to Parmar’s arrest and the seizure of the mobile phone that powered the entire fake profile racket.
The action follows two complaints filed by MLA Zimpa’s nephew Dheeraj Sharma, who had flagged the defamatory posts over the past year. Today, Sharma confirmed receiving a call informing him of the arrest and the recovery of the device used in the online attacks.

In a major and potentially explosive revelation, the arrested accused has allegedly named a “big figure” directing him from behind the scenes. This disclosure has opened a new front for investigators, who are now probing whether a larger political conspiracy was orchestrating the defamatory digital assault.
This arrest is expected to send shockwaves through political circles, raising pressing questions about the use of social media warfare to settle political scores in Punjab.
