Kapurthala Police Bust Jagga Fukiwal Gang’s Weapon Supply Network, Seize 7 Illegal Firearms

Kapurthala, PunjabIn a major breakthrough against organized crime, Kapurthala Police have successfully dismantled a crucial weapon supply chain of the notorious Jagga Fukiwal extortion gang, arresting two key operatives and recovering seven country-made pistols from their possession.

Major Breakthrough in Sultanpur Lodhi Area

The operation, conducted by Kapurthala district police, led to the arrest of Amandeep alias Aman, a resident of Tashpur, who has been identified as a vital link in the gang’s criminal network operating around Sultanpur Lodhi. Police sources indicate that Amandeep played a pivotal role in supplying weapons to local criminal groups, enabling them to carry out shootings, extortion, and armed intimidation.

The accused was instrumental in arming gang members for various criminal activities in the region,” said a senior police official involved in the investigation.

Sequential Arrests Lead to Weapon Cache

The initial arrest of Amandeep yielded four country-made pistols. However, during sustained interrogation, the accused revealed critical information about his network, leading investigators to his accomplice, Lovepreet alias Baba, who was subsequently taken into custody.

From Lovepreet’s possession, police recovered:

  • One .32-bore country-made pistol
  • One .315-bore country-made pistol
  • Two live cartridges

Further investigation and searches at Amandeep’s residence in Tashpur resulted in the recovery of three additional country-made pistols that had been concealed on the premises.

Significant Impact on Gang Operations

The arrest of these two operatives represents a significant setback for the Jagga Fukiwal gang’s operational capabilities in the region. By cutting off their weapon supply chain, police have effectively disrupted the gang’s ability to arm its members for criminal enterprises.

This operation has dealt a severe blow to the extortion gang’s infrastructure. The seizure of seven illegal firearms will significantly hamper their criminal activities,” an investigating officer stated.

Ongoing Investigation

Police officials confirmed that further interrogation of both accused individuals is underway to uncover additional links in the criminal network and identify other gang members. Authorities are also investigating the source of the illegal firearms and potential connections to weapon manufacturing units in the region.

The Kapurthala Police have registered cases under relevant sections of the Arms Act and are pursuing leads to apprehend other members of the Jagga Fukiwal gang involved in extortion and violent crimes in Punjab.

This operation underscores the Punjab Police’s continued efforts to crack down on organized crime syndicates and illegal weapon networks threatening public safety in the state.
