Pharmaceutical company in Sansarpur Terrace closed following drug quality violations and trademark infringement
Talwara, Himachal Pradesh — Drug authorities have ordered the immediate closure of Curex Pharma, a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Sansarpur Terrace industrial area, following serious violations related to substandard drug production and brand counterfeiting.
Drug Inspector Kushal Kumar executed the closure notice on [date], in the presence of Police Station Officer Sanjay Sharma and local panchayat representatives, bringing all production and sales activities at the facility to a complete halt.
Major Raid Four Months Ago
The closure follows a major operation conducted approximately four months ago by Sansarpur Terrace Police and the Himachal Pradesh Drug Department. The raid was initiated based on allegations of copyright infringement and counterfeit drug manufacturing.
During the operation, authorities seized a large quantity of medicines from the premises. Company management was unable to provide adequate documentation or evidence to justify their manufacturing operations, according to officials.
Violations Uncovered
Drug Inspector Kumar stated that the company was found manufacturing and selling Ayurvedic capsules under another company’s brand name, a serious violation of pharmaceutical regulations and trademark laws.
“The Drug Department conducted surprise inspections of pharmaceutical companies. Show-cause notices were issued due to significant irregularities and deficiencies found,” Kumar said.
The Himachal Pradesh Health Department subsequently issued orders to close the Curex Pharma factory with immediate effect, citing the company’s failure to comply with drug manufacturing standards and regulations.
