JALANDHAR, PUNJAB — A school teacher has been arrested following allegations of sexual misconduct involving a 16-year-old Class 10 student at a senior secondary school in a village under Kishangarh police station jurisdiction.

The Incident
According to the complaint filed by the student’s father, the accused teacher, identified as Rajinder Kumar, a resident of Beas Pind, allegedly took the minor to the school laboratory on the day of the incident. The student reported that Kumar locked the door, grabbed her from behind, and touched her inappropriately.
The victim managed to escape and immediately reported the incident to school principal Suman Sharma while visibly distressed.
School’s Response Under Scrutiny
In a troubling development, the school principal allegedly attempted to handle the matter internally. In the presence of teachers Jaswinder Kaur and Arshipal Singh, the principal confronted the accused, who reportedly admitted his actions and was made to write an apology letter.
The incident has raised serious questions about the school administration’s handling of sexual assault allegations and attempts to suppress the matter rather than immediately involving law enforcement.
Family Takes Action
After returning home from school, the student informed her mother about the assault. The family immediately filed a complaint at Kishangarh police station, leading to swift police action.
Police Action
Station House Officer Ramandeep Singh and Kishangarh Outpost Incharge Narendra confirmed that based on the victim’s father’s statement, the accused teacher Rajinder Kumar has been arrested and remanded to judicial custody.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Community Reaction
The incident has sparked outrage throughout the village, with residents demanding severe punishment for the accused. This case comes shortly after another disturbing incident involving a 13-year-old girl in Jalandhar’s Paras Estate area, raising concerns about child safety in educational institutions across the district.
Ongoing Investigation
The investigation is currently underway, and authorities have assured that appropriate legal action will be taken based on the evidence collected.

This is a developing story. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
