KANPUR – A chilling tale of deception and medical malpractice has emerged following a police raid on an illegal kidney transplant racket operating across the Delhi-NCR region. The investigation has taken a dark turn with the disappearance of a patient’s husband and the steadfast silence of the young donor involved.

The Deception: A Family Betrayed
The case came to light following a procedure on March 29 involving 43-year-old Parul Tomar. According to her brother, Divyank, they were brought to Kanpur from Meerut under the guise of medical treatment. It was only upon arrival at the hospital that the true nature of the trip—an unauthorized kidney transplant—was revealed.
Parul’s husband, Vikas Tomar, allegedly orchestrated the arrangement before “vanishing” entirely.
“His phone has been switched off ever since,” Divyank stated. “He pushed his wife into the jaws of death and hasn’t even called to ask if she is alive.”
Parul is currently in critical condition in the Nephrology Department at Hallet Hospital, reportedly “weeping inconsolably” as her health fluctuates in the ICU.

The Mystery of the Donor
The donor, identified as Ayush Chaudhary, a resident of Bihar, remains a central enigma. Despite intense questioning by investigators and the Principal of the medical college, Dr. Sanjay Kala, Ayush has refused to provide a motive for selling his organ.
-
Financial Motive: When pressed, Ayush simply remarked that “everyone needs money.”
-
The MBA Theory: While initial reports suggested he sold his kidney to fund his studies, a female friend who travelled from Dehradun to visit him debunked the claim, confirming that Ayush had already completed his MBA.

A Rogue Medical Network
The Kanpur Police have exposed a sophisticated network of doctors who allegedly bypassed all legal and ethical protocols. At Ahuja Hospital, where the surgery took place, the CCTV cameras were reportedly ordered to be switched off to hide the identities of those entering the operating theatre.
Police are currently hunting for four primary suspects:
-
Dr. Afzal
-
Dr. Rohit
-
Dr. Vaibhav
-
Dr. Anurag (alias Amit)
Police Commissioner Raghubir Lal confirmed that lookout notices have been issued to prevent these individuals from fleeing the country. “Evidence suggests Dr. Rohit and his team were present during the transplant. We are now tracking their financial trails and have sought assistance from the Income Tax Department,” Lal stated.
Current Status
-
Arrests: Six individuals, including the owners of Ahuja Hospital, are in custody.
-
Raids: Ongoing police camps have been established in Noida, Meerut, and Dehradun.
-
Condition of the Patient: Parul Tomar remains under heavy observation after being moved between three different facilities in less than 48 hours following her surgery.
The investigation continues as authorities look to dismantle what appears to be a multi-city syndicate profiting from illegal organ trafficking.
