Jalandhar Terror Plot: Hotel Stay, CCTV Trail, and the White T-Shirt Mystery

JALANDHAR – A major terrorist conspiracy has been unearthed following the high-intensity blast outside the BSF Punjab Frontier Headquarters on the night of May 5. Investigating agencies have now revealed a chilling sequence of events involving a precision-timed IED, a cross-border nexus, and a suspect who vanished into thin air after the attack.

The ‘White T-Shirt’ Suspect: A Pre-Planned Escape

The breakthrough in the case came from a trail of CCTV footage. Investigators spotted a young man wearing a white T-shirt approaching the high-security zone carrying an envelope. In a calculated move, he placed the package near a parked delivery scooter and walked away briskly.

Seconds later, a massive explosion ripped through the air. Despite a Punjab Police checkpoint (naka) being positioned just ten steps away, the attacker managed to evade capture.

Hotel Room Leads and Out-of-State Origins

The investigation has taken a sharp turn toward a local hotel situated near the BSF complex.

  • The Stay: The suspect had rented a room at the hotel and remained there until the blast.

  • The Evidence: Police have seized the suspect’s ID proof, which originates from outside Punjab, suggesting a “sleeper cell” operative brought in from another state.

  • Digital Trail: Although his mobile phone has been switched off since 8:00 PM on Tuesday, authorities have successfully retrieved his contact details and call logs.

IED Triggered via Remote Control

Forensic experts from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) confirmed that the blast was caused by a sophisticated Improvised Explosive Device (IED).

“This was no ordinary explosion,” an intelligence official stated. “The use of a remote-control trigger indicates the attacker was watching from a distance, ensuring the device detonated at the most impactful moment.”

The attackers chose a “soft target”—a delivery agent’s scooter parked outside the gates due to security protocols—to minimize immediate suspicion while still targeting a high-profile military establishment.

The Cross-Border Connection

Intelligence agencies are now pointing toward handlers operating from across the border. The working theory suggests a lethal collaboration between banned terror modules (such as Babbar Khalsa International) and local gangster networks.

Authorities believe the operation was coordinated via encrypted communication channels to bypass traditional surveillance. The delivery agent, whose vehicle was used as the blast platform, remains under intensive interrogation to determine if there was any internal breach or if he was an unwitting pawn in the conspiracy.

State-wide Alert

With “shocking revelations” continuing to emerge, Punjab remains on high alert. Security has been tightened at all military and paramilitary installations across the state as the hunt for the man in the white T-shirt intensifies.
