BJP President Nitin Nabin Pledges to Eradicate Drug Menace During Punjab Visit

JALANDHAR – On the occasion of the 12th International Yoga Day, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Nitin Nabin arrived in Punjab for a three-day tour, setting a combative tone for the party’s future in the state. Addressing a large gathering at Lovely Professional University (LPU), Nabin pledged to lead a decisive campaign to “erase the traces of the drug menace” from the state.

A Focus on a Drug-Free Punjab

During his address at the LPU yoga event, Nabin identified the prevalence of “chitte” (synthetic drugs) as the most critical crisis facing the state. Describing the drug epidemic as a “poison” that is crippling the younger generation, he called for a collective effort to address the issue.

“Getting Punjab out of the swamp of drugs is the primary need of the hour,” Nabin stated. “The BJP is committed to using every resource at its disposal to eliminate this menace, but this is not just the government’s responsibility—it is the duty of every Punjabi to ensure our state is free from this poison.”

Empowerment of Youth

Turning his attention to the thousands of students in attendance, the BJP National President framed the youth as the architects of India’s future. He urged them to balance their aspirations for progress with a deep commitment to national identity.

“The future of this country rests in your hands,” Nabin told the youth. “Participate in nation-building, innovate, and lead, but never compromise on your respect for the tricolour or the soil of this country.”

Political Ambitions and Roadshow

In addition to his address at LPU, Nabin spearheaded a high-profile roadshow in Jalandhar, where he signalled a major shift in the BJP’s political strategy for Punjab. Reflecting on the state’s history as a “land of heroes who never bowed,” he claimed that the electorate is increasingly disillusioned with traditional political parties.

“The people of Punjab are ready for change,” Nabin asserted during the roadshow. “They have seen the failures of the old guard, and they are now looking toward the BJP to provide the governance and vision that the state deserves.”

Strategic Significance

Nabin’s three-day visit, which coincides with the 12th annual celebration of International Yoga Day, is seen by political analysts as a strategic move to strengthen the party’s grassroots presence. By combining public health messaging with sharp political critiques of the ruling establishment, the BJP is positioning itself as the primary challenger in the state’s shifting political landscape.

As the party continues its outreach efforts, Nabin’s emphasis on nationalistic values and the eradication of the drug trade remains the cornerstone of the BJP’s narrative as it attempts to solidify its foothold in the Punjab region.
