JALANDHAR – Security concerns have gripped the city following a brazen shooting incident at the Aryan Homeopathic Clinic, located on Slempor Road near the Verka Milk Plant. The attack, which took place under the cover of night, has left local business owners and residents in a state of alarm.
The Incident
According to the clinic’s proprietor, Aryan, he had securely closed the establishment at approximately 8:30 PM on Saturday. The incident came to light on Monday morning at 11:00 AM when he arrived to open the clinic, only to find the storefront compromised. Upon inspection, he discovered a bullet mark on the outer shutter and shattered glass inside the premises. A bullet fragment was subsequently recovered from the scene, confirming that shots had been fired.
Police Investigation
Local authorities from the Division No. 8 Police Station arrived promptly at the site to secure the area and initiate a forensic examination.
SHO Sahil Chaudhary, who is leading the investigation, confirmed that the matter is being treated with the utmost seriousness. “We are currently scanning CCTV footage from cameras in the immediate vicinity to track the movements of the masked attackers and identify them,” SHO Chaudhary stated. “The investigation is ongoing, and we are committed to bringing the facts to light as quickly as possible.”
Community Reaction
The discovery of the attack has sent ripples of panic through the neighborhood. Shopkeepers in the area reported that the incident went unnoticed overnight, leading to speculation regarding the precise timing of the assault.
“We only learned of the firing when we arrived on Monday morning and saw the police presence,” said Harvinder Singh, a nearby shopkeeper. The fact that the attackers managed to strike without immediate detection has intensified local anxiety regarding law and order in the area.
Motive Unknown
As of this report, the motive behind the firing remains a mystery. The clinic owner has explicitly stated that he has no personal enmities, no history of business disputes, and had not received any prior threats. The police are continuing their inquiries to determine whether this was a targeted act or an attempt at extortion.
