CHANDIGARH — In a landmark session, the Punjab Vidhan Sabha unanimously passed a historic resolution praising the Bhagwant Singh Mann-led state government for its stellar achievements in transparent employment generation, merit-driven governance, and massive industrial expansion.
The resolution, moved by MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, spotlighted the administration’s successful execution of a two-pronged strategy: restoring absolute transparency to public sector recruitment while simultaneously creating a business-friendly ecosystem to draw mega industrial investments and permanent private sector jobs.

Addressing the house, MLA Dhaliwal emphasized that the state government has permanently dismantled decades of political interference, nepotism, and corruption in public sector hiring. By cantering recruitment entirely on merit, the administration has successfully restored the trust of the state’s youth.
Since April 1, 2022, the government has facilitated 68,228 government jobs through a rigorous, corruption-free pipeline. Key departmental recruitment figures include:

Local Government Department: 5,681 persons

Health and Family Welfare Department: 4,758 persons

Thousands of additional appointmentswere also finalized across crucial sectors like Revenue, Medical Education, Water Resources, and Agriculture.
🏭 Industrial Boom: Rs 1.83 Lakh Crore and Over 6 Lakh Jobs
On the economic front, the resolution acknowledged Punjab’s unprecedented private sector growth, heavily propelled by policy stability and enhanced “Ease of Doing Business” frameworks.
Between March 16, 2022, and July 31, 2026, the state received9,899 investment proposals worth Rs 1,83,837 crore. These initiatives have collectively catalysed6,16,436 employment opportunities for youth locally.
Global and national corporate giants—including Tata Steel, HMEL Organics, Sail Solar, Ambuja Cements, Happy Forgings, Vardhman Special Steels, and Nestle India—have selected Punjab for major expansion projects. These investments span high-growth pillars such as:
