According to this policy, defaulters can deposit their dues in lump sum along with scheme interest without any penalty. Under this scheme, non-construction expenses up to 50 percent have been waived.
The Punjab government has started an amnesty scheme from Saturday for those property owners who have not paid their installments for the allotted land or have not done construction within the stipulated time after allotment.
Property owners will be able to avail these services till June 30. In the cabinet meeting last month, the amnesty policy for defaulter allottees was also approved. It was started on Saturday.
These include those allottees who could not deposit the money for the plot/land allotted to them by PUDA and other related development authorities. According to this policy, defaulters can deposit their dues in lump sum along with scheme interest without any penalty. Under this scheme, non-construction expenses upto 50 per cent are waived and in case of institutional spaces/hospital plots/industrial plots allotted in IT City, SAS Nagar or any other scheme of development authorities, extension fee @ 2.50 per cent will be charged and allottees will be given a period of three years to fulfil all the conditions of the allotment letter.
