A big campaign has started in Punjab against drugs. On Saturday, Punjab Police conducted search operations in many districts. Punjab Police is taking action at about 750 locations in Punjab. More than 12 thousand officers are engaged in the campaign.
The first meeting of the sub-committee of Punjab formed for the war against drugs was held in Chandigarh today. Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that today the first meeting of our sub-committee on the war against drugs was held. I think there should be a health infrastructure for drug addicts. There should be doctors for this. I appeal to the people of Punjab that if they feel that someone in their family is addicted to drugs or they see its symptoms, then they should immediately take him to the hospital. We will see what progress has been made. We will hold a weekly meeting of the sub-committee and we will monitor how the work is going on.
The police campaign against drugs is going on in Abohar. Since morning, a large number of police personnel conducted a search operation in the Thakur Abadi Azim Garh area. The houses of those against whom cases of drug trafficking are already registered are being searched.
