The deceased has been identified as Satwinder Sharma of Absford. He was a prominent businessman, a labor contractor and property developer under the Diamond Labor Contractors firm.
Two unidentified assailants shot and killed a Hindu businessman in his office in the Surrey-Fleetwood area in Surrey, Canada. According to information released by the Surrey Police Service, the incident took place at around 3:45 pm on 84 Avenue near 160 Street. The place is very close to the Fleetwood Community Center.
According to sources, when the police team reached the spot after receiving information about the shooting incident, they found a man in a seriously injured condition. Despite the efforts of police and paramedics, the injured could not be saved.
Surrey Police say that the Integrated Murder Investigation Team has taken over the investigation. This is the third incident of shooting in the city in 2025. Police have not yet identified the man killed in the incident, but community sources have identified the victim as Satwinder Sharma of Abbsford. He was a prominent businessman, a labour contractor and property developer under the Diamond Labour Contractors firm. He had received calls from extortionists a few years ago, but it is not clear if the latest incident is linked to extortion or any gangsters.

A few days ago, another businessman and chairman of Laxmi Narayan Mandir, Satish Kumar’s Reflection Banquet Hall was also fired upon. Though the attack on Satwinder Sharma and the firing at Satish Kumar’s Reflection Hall are not connected and neither are these families related, the incident is being linked to extortion incidents. It is noteworthy that earlier two accused had been arrested from a house in Delta on charges of murdering businessman Harjeet Singh Dhaddha in Brampton for not paying ransom.
