Another Shooting in Phagwara: Masked Men Open Fire at Bohani Village Sarpanch’s Shop, Four Bullets Hit Shutter

Phagwara, October 16: The wave of shootings in Phagwara continues unchecked. In yet another incident, unidentified assailants opened fire at the closed shop of Bohani village sarpanch Bhupinder Singh late Wednesday night. The attack occurred around 1:06 a.m., leaving four bullet holes on the shop’s shutter.

According to information, two men with their faces covered arrived on a motorcycle and fired six rounds at the shop before fleeing the scene. Out of the six rounds, four bullets pierced the shutter, while two misfired.

Bhupinder Singh, the village sarpanch, said that when he came to open his shop on Thursday morning, he was stunned to find the shutter riddled with bullet holes. “When I checked the CCTV footage, I saw two masked men on a motorcycle firing at the shop. I have no enmity with anyone, so I’m unable to understand the reason behind the attack,” he said.

Upon receiving information, ASI Sukhdev Singh from Rawalpindi Police Station, Phagwara, reached the spot with his team and initiated an investigation. “We have recovered four spent shells and two misfired rounds from the site. The incident occurred at 1:06 a.m. The CCTV footage is being analyzed to identify the accused,” he said.

The police have begun verifying footage from nearby CCTV cameras and questioning locals to trace the suspects’ route and motive. The reason behind the firing remains unknown.

This is the latest in a series of firing incidents in Phagwara, raising growing concerns over law and order in the area. Residents have demanded increased police patrolling and swift action against those responsible.
