Case Against Former Punjab DGP Mohammad Mustafa: Panchkula Police File FIR Over Son’s Mysterious Death — Wife Razia Sultana and Daughter-in-Law Also Named

Panchkula :
In a shocking turn of events, Panchkula Police have registered a criminal case against former Punjab DGP Mohammad Mustafa, his wife and former minister Razia Sultana, and their daughter-in-law in connection with the mysterious death of their son, Aqeel Akhtar.

Aqeel’s body was discovered inside his residence in Sector 4, Mansa Devi Complex (MDC), Panchkula, on October 17. The case has sent shockwaves across Punjab’s political and administrative circles, as the investigation now targets one of the state’s most prominent former police officials and his family.

The FIR was filed at the MDC Police Station following a detailed complaint by Shamsuddin Chaudhary, a resident of Malerkotla, who alleged that Aqeel’s death was not natural and occurred under suspicious circumstances.

According to the complaint, Aqeel Akhtar had released a video on August 27, accusing certain family members of harassment and stating that his life was in danger. The complainant urged police to probe these videos, Aqeel’s digital records, and his call history to uncover the truth behind his death.

Sources within the Panchkula Police confirmed that an in-depth investigation has begun. All possible angles — including foul play, abetment, and family disputes — are being examined. The postmortem report, digital evidence, and forensic data are expected to play a crucial role in determining whether Aqeel’s death was a case of suicide or something far more sinister.

Police officials have maintained that no one is above the law and that the investigation will proceed strictly on merit, regardless of the accused’s status or influence.

This high-profile case has now become one of the most talked-about investigations in recent memory — raising serious questions about the circumstances that led to the tragic death of the former DGP’s son.
