Punjab on High Alert: NRI Jagman Samra Wanted for Spreading Fake, Obscene CM Mann Videos

Faridkot, Punjab: Punjab Police has gone on a high-octane manhunt for NRI Jagmandeep Singh, alias Jagman Samra, after a Faridkot court issued an arrest warrant against him for circulating AI-generated obscene videos of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Samra, a resident of Phagguwala village, Sangrur, is now a top fugitive in the state.

The case comes after Samra brazenly escaped Faridkot Central Jail on February 1, 2022, while admitted to Guru Gobind Singh Medical College Hospital for treatment. His escape shocked authorities and he reportedly fled to Canada, evading Indian law enforcement.

Samra’s criminal dossier is extensive: a fraud case registered at Talwandi Bhai Police Station, Ferozepur, in 2020; lodged in jail; and then escaped custody, exposing glaring lapses in prison security.

The Mohali State Cyber Crime Police had earlier acted against him when he created and circulated videos intended to defame the Chief Minister. These AI-manipulated videos were obscene, prompting immediate legal action. Samra now faces charges under IPC Sections 340, 353(1), 353(2), 351(2), 336(4) and the IT Act, based on the statement of Inspector Gaganpreet Singh.

The Punjab Police, now redoubling efforts to bring him to justice, warns that anyone aiding Samra in hiding could face strict legal action.

This case is a stark reminder: the state will not tolerate cyber defamation, AI-driven misinformation, or criminals mocking the law. Jagman Samra’s next moves will be closely watched as Punjab authorities aim to make an example of the fugitive.
