Government Launches February 10-11 Grievance Redressal Initiative
The Punjab government will launch special grievance redressal camps across every district on February 10 and 11, 2026. Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema announced the initiative at a high-level meeting of the Punjab State Traders Commission (PSTC) held at Punjab Bhawan on Wednesday. The camps aim to directly address local grievances and issues faced by the trading community at the grassroots level.

During the meeting, Finance Minister Cheema instructed the chairpersons of the District Trade Committees to actively engage with traders in their respective areas and gather feedback on ground-level concerns. The chairpersons will be present at the camps to listen directly to traders’ problems, with immediate resolution of issues that can be addressed on the spot.
“Our objective is to establish a robust three-tiered system that connects the trading community directly with the administration, so that every trader in Punjab receives timely assistance and their concerns are identified and addressed,” said Cheema. This systematic approach aims to create a smooth and accountable environment for businesses across the state.
Issues discussed at the district-level camps that require further action will be systematically documented and forwarded to the Punjab State Traders Commission for prompt resolution. This ensures a clear escalation pathway for complex grievances while maintaining direct engagement with traders.
The high-level meeting also emphasized technical empowerment of the District Trade Committees. Financial Commissioner Taxation Ajit Balaji Joshi and Taxation Commissioner Jatinder Jorwal provided detailed information on key technical aspects related to GST filing. This training aims to equip committee members with the necessary knowledge to assist traders in complying with regulatory requirements and navigating tax compliance.
The initiative reflects the broader vision of the Punjab government to create a transparent and business-friendly environment. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s administration is committed to supporting the trading community through district-level outreach programs and robust state-level policies that foster sustainable business growth.

The special camps represent a significant step toward strengthening the relationship between the government and Punjab’s trading community. By bringing administration officials directly to traders’ locations, the government aims to reduce bureaucratic barriers and ensure that business concerns receive immediate attention and support.
