A Chandigarh court has issued formal notices to Bollywood actor Salman Khan, his sister Alvira Khan Agnihotri, the Being Human Foundation, and several associates following a legal complaint filed by local businessman Arun Gupta.
The case stems from a 2018 business venture in which Gupta alleges he invested ₹3 crore to open a showroom in Manimajra, Chandigarh, relying on assurances made by Khan during a meeting on the sets of the reality television show Bigg Boss. According to the complainant, Khan had promised to personally inaugurate the showroom but failed to attend, sending Atul Agnihotri—husband of Alvira Khan Agnihotri—in his place.

This latest court action follows an earlier police inquiry in 2021, during which the UT Police issued an initial notice to Salman Khan, who responded via electronic mail. If the court finds the upcoming October 5 responses unsatisfactory, formal criminal summons may be issued to the accused parties to compel their physical appearance in the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMIC) court.
