The body of a minor girl has been found in a blood-soaked suitcase in North-East Delhi. Officials said that a minor girl died under suspicious circumstances in Nehru Vihar in North-East Delhi on Saturday. Police suspect sexual assault based on initial medical examination.
A police officer said that upon receiving a PCR call at 8:41 pm at Dayalpur police station, a team was sent to Nehru Vihar’s lane number 2 and found that the girl’s father had already admitted her to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital. She was declared dead at the hospital. Doctors found injury marks on her face and suspected sexual assault.
Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Several teams have been deployed to collect evidence and trace the accused.
