Manu Smriti in controversy: BSP chief Mayawati condemned the statement made by a saint about Dr. Ambedkar and said that one should think before speaking about him.
National President of Bahujan Samaj Party and former Chief Minister Mayawati said in her statement issued on Saturday that some sadhus and saints who make controversial statements to remain in the headlines every day should not speak about Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar.
The BSP supremo said that due to lack of correct information about Baba Saheb’s incomparable contribution in the making of the Indian Constitution, it would be better to remain silent instead of making any wrong statement in this regard. Also, why Baba Saheb’s followers oppose Manusmriti, one should also understand it by leaving their casteist hatred.
It should also be known that Baba Saheb was a great scholarly personality. Any sages and saints who comment on this matter are nothing in terms of their scholarship. Therefore, one should refrain from saying anything on this issue.
