Trump declares victory over “climate change hoax,” says Bill Gates finally admitted he was wrong

Washington, D.C.: US President Donald Trump has once again sparked global controversy — this time claiming he has “won the battle against the climate change hoax.” Trump’s fiery statement came soon after billionaire Bill Gates admitted that global warming will not end human civilization, calling it a major turnaround from Gates’ earlier doomsday warnings.

Posting on Truth Social, Trump wrote, “I (we) have won the battle against the climate change hoax. Bill Gates has finally admitted he was completely wrong on this issue. It took courage to admit this, and we are all grateful to him for that.”

The statement marks Trump’s renewed assault on climate science, which he has repeatedly branded as fake, overblown, and politically motivated.

Bill Gates shifts stance: “Climate change won’t end humanity”

In a long post this week, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates admitted that while climate change is real and dangerous, it “will not destroy human civilization.” Gates wrote that technology and innovation will play a massive role in reducing emissions and helping the world adapt.

He emphasized, “If we focus on tackling disease and poverty, poor countries will be better prepared for the impacts of climate change.”
Gates even acknowledged critics who accuse him of hypocrisy, saying, “Some may call this note a way to downplay climate change, but major progress has already been made in cutting emissions — and technology will take us even further.”

Trump doubles down — calls climate change “the biggest hoax ever”

Trump, who has long dismissed environmental warnings, once again took aim at global climate initiatives. Addressing the United Nations General Assembly earlier in September, he called climate change “the biggest hoax ever.”

Since returning to power in January, Trump has scrapped several green regulations introduced under previous administrations. Reports also reveal that his 2024 election campaign received hundreds of millions of dollars in backing from oil and energy corporations — a move that critics say explains his aggressive rollback of environmental policies.

The clash of narratives

Trump’s declaration has reignited the global debate between environmentalists and climate sceptics. While Gates insists the crisis is serious but manageable, Trump continues to portray it as “a scam designed to weaken American industries.”

With two of the world’s most influential billionaires now taking drastically different tones on climate change, the world watches as politics, science, and industry collide once again.
