PM Modi to Inaugurate Landmark National Inspiration Site in Lucknow on December 25

Massive celebration planned with 1.5 lakh guests, grand infrastructure, and special aerial arrival

LUCKNOW Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the National Inspiration Site, an ambitious memorial project in the Basant Kunj area of Lucknow, on December 25th. The inaugural ceremony is expected to draw approximately 1.5 lakh (150,000) guests, making it one of the significant public events in the state capital.

The National Inspiration Site stands as a tribute to three towering figures in India’s political history: former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, ideologue Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, and Shyama Prasad Mukherjee. The site features bronze statues of these leaders, each standing 65 feet tall, at a construction cost of Rs. 21 crore.

Grand Infrastructure in Place

Preparations for the historic inauguration are in full swing, with the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) overseeing all arrangements. LDA Vice Chairman Prathamesh Kumar has established a temporary office at the site to coordinate the massive logistics operation.

A large temporary pandal with waterproof tarpaulin has been erected to accommodate the vast gathering. A permanent stage has been constructed adjacent to the museum block, from where the Prime Minister will address the assembled crowd. An amphitheatre with a seating capacity of 3,000 has been designated for VVIPs, and the entire venue is being embellished with special flowers and decorative elements.

Architectural Highlights

One of the most striking features of the site is the array of projection lights installed on the three statues. These cutting-edge lights will illuminate the monuments with different coloured displays each evening, creating a dynamic visual experience that celebrates the legacies of these historical figures.

The museum block, also part of the site, is nearing completion and will preserve valuable memoirs and artifacts related to the lives and contributions of Vajpayee, Upadhyaya, and Mukherjee. The finishing touches are being applied to ensure the museum showcases the historical significance of these leaders.

Comprehensive Logistics and Traffic Management

The government has made elaborate arrangements to bring visitors from five surrounding districts to the event. Dedicated teams have been assigned specific responsibilities for food, refreshments, and hospitality. Separate parking arrangements are being organized for the hundreds of buses and vehicles expected to arrive for the ceremony.

The Police and Traffic departments have finalized a comprehensive security and traffic management plan. The venue is connected via a green corridor, with beautification work underway along the entire route from Vasant Kunj to Pakka Pul. Road dividers and sides are being painted, and clearing operations are removing bushes and obstacles along the approach routes.

Aerial Arrival Planned

In a move that will minimize traffic disruption to Lucknow residents, three helipads have been constructed at the event venue. There is strong speculation that Prime Minister Modi will arrive by helicopter, a decision that would eliminate the need for extensive road closures during his passage to the site. Should the aerial arrival proceed as planned, the city’s traffic movement will experience minimal disruption during the inauguration period.

Timeline and Readiness

With the inauguration just days away, the Lucknow Development Authority and multiple municipal teams are working round the clock to ensure every detail is perfected. From the installation of projection lights to the final touches on floral arrangements, the entire venue is being transformed into a world-class memorial space befitting the stature of the leaders being honoured.

The National Inspiration Site promises to be not merely an inauguration ceremony, but a grand celebration of India’s political heritage and vision for the future.
