Jalandhar: Anger erupted on the streets of Jalandhar as the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) launched a fierce protest outside the Maksudan Police Station, accusing the Punjab Police and AAP government of running a reign of terror in the Kartarpur Assembly constituency.
The BSP alleged that innocent people are being trapped in false cases, beaten, and thrown behind bars, while the real culprits roam free under political protection. The protesters raised thunderous slogans —

“Jhoothi FIR wapas lo! Police ki gundagardi band karo! AAP sarkar murdabad!”
The protest was spearheaded by BSP leader Advocate Balwinder Kumar, who tore into the administration, saying,
“The Punjab Police has become a puppet in the hands of politicians. They are fabricating cases, arresting innocent people, and crushing democracy with brute force. This is not governance — this is dictatorship!”
Senior BSP leaders Salwinder Kumar, Vijay Yadav, Sukhwinder Bittu, Kamal Badshahpur, Shadi Lal, and Amarjit Singh Nangal joined the outrage, warning that the BSP will not stay silent if injustice continues.
The firestorm erupted after a shocking incident in Nangal Salempur village, where Station House Officer Bikram Singh allegedly filed a fake assault case against the village sarpanch, her husband, and two innocent residents — Dinesh Paswan and Chaman Lal.
The BSP claimed the truth was the opposite: a theft took place at Dinesh Paswan and Chaman Lal’s homes, and when the sarpanch intervened to help, the actual thieves colluded with the police to frame the victims.
Despite knowing the facts, the SHO allegedly twisted the case, turning victims into accused — a move BSP called a criminal conspiracy under police protection.
The BSP accused the Jalandhar Rural Police of working hand-in-hand with corrupt elements and demanded the immediate suspension and arrest of SHO Bikram Singh.

“This is not law and order — this is lawlessness! The AAP government is using police to silence voices and destroy the weak,” shouted protesters, blocking the road and warning of a state-wide agitation if justice is not delivered immediately.
The BSP vowed to lay siege to police stations across Punjab if the fabricated FIR is not withdrawn and the guilty officers are not punished.
