ZIRAKPUR – In a shocking incident that has sent ripples through the Sanauli village community, the local police have registered a case against a 45-year-old medical practitioner for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl who had visited him for treatment. The accused, identified as Dr. RK Tiwari, remains at large, prompting a widespread manhunt.
The case was officially registered on June 16, following a formal complaint lodged by the minor’s family. According to Investigating Officer ASI Harvinder Singh, the survivor was subjected to the alleged assault when she went to the doctor’s clinic seeking medical care. The gravity of the offence has invoked stringent legal provisions, with the police filing charges under Section 64(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
“The complaint was received on June 16, and we immediately initiated legal proceedings. The accused is currently absconding, and multiple teams have been deployed to track his whereabouts,” stated ASI Singh. “We are confident of making an arrest soon.”
In a parallel development, authorities have launched a thorough investigation into the professional credentials of the accused. Sources indicate that Dr. Tiwari had been practising medicine in Sanauli village for an extended period, attending to the local populace. However, with his licence and qualifications now under scrutiny, police are examining his medical records and certifications to ascertain whether he held a valid degree and was duly authorised to practice.
The survivor is currently undergoing a medical examination, and her condition is being monitored. The local administration has assured the family of all necessary support, while the police have urged residents to remain calm as the investigation progresses.
