The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested two doctors from Life Care Hospital in Amritsar. Dr. Rajesh Kumar and Dr. Parveen are being interrogated by the NCB team.

The Narcotics Control Bureau arrested two doctors from the local Life Care Hospital in Amritsar, Punjab, Dr. Rajesh Kumar and Dr. Parveen on Sunday. They face serious charges of involvement in the trafficking of banned and illicit drugs. According to NCB officials, Dr. Rajesh and Dr. Parveen will be produced in court on Monday. Police remand will be sought to uncover the root of this network.
Deepak Bhandari, who runs a web channel, and his brother, Anil Bhandari, have already been arrested in this case. According to the NCB, these individuals operated an illegal drug trade under the guise of a media platform. Over 5,700 narcotic pills were recovered from them. These were far higher than the demand orders from the hospitals.
The NCB has named Deepak’s wife and sons in the case. The NCB has already arrested Dr. Jatinder Malhotra and Dr. Rajan, both from a local corporate hospital. Their bail petitions are scheduled to be heard in the Punjab and Haryana High Court on October 9. Dr. Parveen also filed an anticipatory bail petition in the High Court seeking protection from arrest.
