A major incident has occurred in Chandigarh. An IG-rank officer of the Haryana Police has committed suicide by shooting himself. A police team has reached the spot and is assessing the situation.
A major incident occurred in the capital of Punjab and Haryana on Tuesday. A senior Haryana Police officer committed suicide by shooting himself. The incident occurred in Sector 11. Upon receiving information, local police arrived at the scene. The Chandigarh Police SSP, CFSL, and forensic team also arrived at the scene.
According to reports, Haryana Police ADGP Y Puran Kumar has committed suicide by shooting himself. IG Y Puran Kumar was posted in Sunaria, Rohtak a few days ago. He committed suicide at his residence in Sector 11, Chandigarh. Y Puran Kumar’s wife, P Amneet Kumar, is on a foreign tour. IAS officer P. Amneet Kumar, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Minister Rao Narveer and other senior officials are also in Japan.
According to sources, a suicide note was found at the scene, which the Chandigarh Police has taken into custody. However, the police are not confirming this. Puran Singh was a 2010 batch IPS officer. It is being reported that he shot himself in his home. Meanwhile, a crowd gathered at his home after the incident. The police took possession of the body and took it to GMSH in Sector 16.
