Punjab: Jalandhar Special Task Force (STF) conducts a major operation, arresting a youth in Amritsar with 2 kg 146 grams of heroin.

According to Special Task Force (STF) officials, preliminary investigations have revealed that the accused may be linked to an international drug smuggling ring. It is suspected that the heroin consignment was brought from Pakistan via drone across the border.

Late Monday night, a team from the STF Jalandhar conducted a major operation against drug trafficking and arrested a youth near Tara Wala Bridge in Amritsar. The accused has been identified as Gurbhej Singh alias Prince, a resident of Maqboolpura, Amritsar. Police recovered 2 kg 146 grams of heroin from his possession.

According to information, the Jalandhar Special Task Force (STF) received a tip-off that a youth was traveling on a bike near Tara Wala Bridge with a large consignment of drugs to deliver to a customer. Based on the information, the team set up a blockade at Tara Wala Bridge and apprehended the accused. During a search, high-quality heroin was recovered from him.

According to STF officials, preliminary investigations have revealed that the accused may be linked to an international drug smuggling ring. It is suspected that the heroin consignment was shipped from Pakistan via drone across the border. Police are now investigating who supplied the drugs to the accused and to whom he intended to supply them. The STF has registered a case against the accused under the NDPS Act and has initiated further investigation. The team has stated that this campaign against drugs will continue.
