Jalandhar shook today as Chandigarh Child Commission Chairman Kanwardeep Singh stormed into the city and blasted the police over their shameless delay in a rape case of a 14-year-old girl.
Standing firm at the SSP office, he met the victim and publicly ordered the Jalandhar Police to arrest Phillaur SHO Bhushan Kumar on the spot.
“Put him behind bars immediately! No more delays, no more excuses,” thundered Kanwardeep Singh.
The Chairman slammed the police for taking 50 long days just to register an FIR, calling it a criminal failure of the system.
He demanded answers — “Who protected the accused? Which officers tried to bury this case?” — and warned that no one will be spared.
After meeting SSP Harvinder Virk, the Chairman declared that all investigations against SHO Bhushan Kumar are complete and time for action is over.
He accused the Jalandhar Police of betraying victims and protecting rapists, saying they have failed the very children they swore to protect.

Kanwardeep Singh revealed that multiple POCSO cases in Jalandhar Rural are being ignored or weakened deliberately.
He exposed how victim families were threatened by Phillaur SHO Bhushan Kumar himself, while senior officers turned a blind eye.
The Chairman demanded immediate reports from SIT Chairperson SP Manjit Kaur, DSP Rupinder Singh, and Phillaur SHO Aman Saini, warning them to deliver results, not excuses.
