Pathankot: In a dramatic late-night operation, an unidentified central agency detained senior surgeon Dr. Raees Ahmed Bhatt from Mamoon Cantonment, Pathankot, sending shockwaves through the local medical community.

Dr. Bhatt, a 45-year-old MBBS, MS, FMG-certified surgeon and Professor of Surgery, had been serving at White Medical College, Mamoon Cantt, for the past three years. According to hospital manager Swaran Salaria, the arrest took place abruptly late last night. “A team from an unknown agency arrived and took Dr. Bhatt into custody,” he said.
Worked at Al Falah University, Faridabad
Before moving to Pathankot, Dr. Bhatt had a four-year tenure at Al Falah University, Faridabad, where he had been in continuous contact with staff members. Authorities are now examining whether any of these communications played a role in the ongoing investigation.
Linked to Delhi Blast Accused Dr. Umar, Says Investigation
According to initial information, Dr. Bhatt was allegedly in telephonic contact with Dr. Umar, identified as the main accused in the Delhi blasts case. Officials are currently probing the nature and frequency of this communication.

Despite the high-profile arrest, there is no official confirmation from any central or state agency regarding who executed the operation. The secrecy surrounding the detention has further intensified speculation.

The arrested doctor hails from Bona Dialgam, Anantnag (Jammu & Kashmir). He is currently undergoing questioning, and more details are awaited from official sources.
