Lucknow In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Uttar Pradesh government transferred five IAS (Indian Administrative Service) and four PCS (Provincial Civil Service) officers late Saturday night, repositioning key officials across crucial state departments and development authorities.

Key Appointments

The most notable change involves Rajesh Kumar, who has been appointed as Additional Chief Executive Officer (ACE CEO) of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), a key infrastructure body overseeing development along the strategically important Yamuna corridor.

Devi Prasad Pal, previously serving as Deputy Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission in Prayagraj, has been promoted to the position of Chief Development Officer (CDO) of Chitrakoot, a significant administrative posting in the state.

In a major structural reorganization, Prerna Sharma has been elevated to the dual role of Special Secretary for Infrastructure and Industrial Development, while simultaneously taking charge as Additional Chief Executive Officer of Invest UP, the state’s investment promotion agency.

Administrative Adjustments

To manage the cascading responsibilities created by these transfers, T.K. Shibu, who holds the position of Special Secretary in the APC (Administration and Personnel) Branch, has been given additional charge of Special Secretary for Horticulture and Food Processing, along with the responsibility of heading the Department of Food Processing.

Similarly, Devendra Kumar Singh Kushwaha, Special Secretary in the Sericulture Department, has assumed the additional charge of Director of Sericulture, consolidating administrative oversight in the sector.

PCS Officer Transfers

Among the Provincial Civil Service officers transferred, Saurabh Kumar Pandey, previously serving as Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in Sambhal, has been reassigned as Additional District Magistrate (ADM) in Judicial capacity at Sambhal.

Ajay Kumar Tripathi, who was working as Deputy Director at the Local Bodies Directorate, has been appointed as Additional Municipal Commissioner of Shahjahanpur, a key urban administration position.

Poonam Nigam, who held the position of Additional Commissioner of Kanpur Division, has been transferred to the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission, taking up the role of Deputy Secretary in Prayagraj.

Sushila, attached to the Revenue Council, has been appointed as Additional Commissioner of Kanpur Division, completing the administrative shuffle.

Significance

These transfers are part of the state government’s ongoing effort to optimize administrative efficiency and ensure effective governance across departments. The restructuring reflects the government’s focus on key developmental priorities including infrastructure, industrial investment, and agricultural sectors, particularly sericulture and food processing, which are important for the state’s economic growth and rural development.

The changes are expected to come into effect immediately, with the transferred officers taking charge of their new postings in due course.
