JALANDHAR – A high-profile arrest was made in Jalandhar late Saturday evening after the owner of a local resort was accused of molesting a female fitness trainer inside a gym.
The Incident
The incident reportedly took place around8:00 PM at a popular fitness centre. According to eyewitnesses and the victim’s statement, the accused, identified as Honey Randhawa, owner of a prominent resort on66 Feet Road, arrived at the facility and allegedly grabbed the trainer from behind without provocation.
When the young woman attempted to resist, the situation escalated. It is alleged that Randhawa subjected her to obscene acts and further physical harassment. The sudden assault caused an immediate commotion, drawing the attention of other gym-goers and staff members who intervened.
Police Action and Arrest
The Jalandhar police responded with urgency following a distress call. Officers arrived at the gym while the accused was still on the premises and took him into custody immediately.
A formal case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code pertaining to the molestation of women and criminal force with intent to outrage modesty.
“Given the gravity of the matter, we have initiated a comprehensive investigation,” stated a senior police official. “The accused has been formally arrested, and we are currently recording statements from witnesses present during the 8:00 PM shift.”
