KHANNA, PUNJAB — The aftermath of the recent municipal council elections has taken a volatile turn in Khanna, as local authorities have arrested two prominent Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leaders. The arrests follow a disturbing incident in Ward Number 30 that has sent shockwaves through the local community.

The Incident

According to police reports, the trouble began shortly after the declaration of election results for Ward Number 30, which saw the victory of SAD candidate Honey Rosha. It is alleged that shortly after his win, Honey Rosha, accompanied by his supporters and family members, gathered outside the residence of the defeated Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate, Pradeep Kumar—widely known as Sonu Johar.

The gathering allegedly involved the celebratory use of firecrackers and loud music, which devolved into a heated argument. The situation reportedly turned violent, with accusations of verbal abuse and physical assault directed at the opposition candidate and his family.

Serious Allegations

The FIR, filed at the City Police Station in Khanna, contains grave allegations. Beyond the initial ruckus, complainants have stated that family members of the defeated candidate were subjected to mistreatment. Most concerning are the allegations regarding the physical assault of a pregnant woman during the altercation.
